Christmas Eve Gathering 7:30pm

Welcome to our Covid Safe Christmas Gathering!

We will be using Bell Tolls to move us through our worship experience.

When the Bell Tolls once, join with your family to read this scripture together.
John 1:1-14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word was present to God from the beginning.

Through the Word all things came into being, and apart from the Word nothing came into being. What has come into being in the Word was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the deepest Night and the night did not overcome it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that through his testimony, all might believe. John was not the light, but came to testify to the light. The true light, which illumines all humankind, was coming into the world.

The Word was in the world, and the world came into being through the World; yet the world did not know the Word. Though the Word came to what the Word had made, the Word’s own people did not accept the Word.

Yet all who received the Word, who believed in the name of the Word, were empowered to become children of God, born not of natural descent, nor urge of flesh, nor human will– but born of God. And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen the Word’s glory, the glory as of a parent’s only child, full of grace and truth.

When the Bell Tolls Twice, share communion with one another.

As you take the communion together, share these words:

Body of Christ Born and Given for you and the Cup of Christ Poured into the world for all people.

When the Bell Tolls Three times,  we will join in singing “Silent Night,” using our Bell tower to lead us through the song.

Silent night, holy night,
all is calm, all is bright
round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,

shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
radiant beams from thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

Silent night, holy night,

wondrous star, lend thy light;
with the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born!
